Solidarity with Indian Sister

The Union of Muslim Organisations- Walsall urges all Mosques to raise awareness of the ongoing oppression and targeting of Muslims and other minorities in India. Most recently, the ban of Hijab in schools denies the right of religion guaranteed by the Indian Constitution. The continued harassment, targeting and marginalisation which is supported by the current ruling party cannot be ignored. We need stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in India and ask Allah to ease their suffering. We need to educate ourselves, our families and our community. We also need to engage our local representatives.

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The parable of the believers in

their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
